The useful
short version.
Most questions come down to sharing, the way a balance is calculated, or how a record appears in the ledger.
How does sharing work?
Tallio uses Apple’s iCloud sharing flow. Both people need to be signed in to iCloud, with iCloud Drive available, and the invited person needs to accept the household invite. Changes sync when the devices are online.
An entry is not appearing on the other phone
Check that both devices are online, signed in to the intended Apple Account, and that the household invitation was accepted. If the device is offline or in Airplane Mode, its changes wait until it reconnects.
Why does the balance look different than expected?
The balance includes who paid each expense, each person’s share, and recorded settlements. Review the relevant entries and check whether an expense or settlement was entered twice.
When does a recurring entry appear?
Due entries are added when the person who created the household opens Tallio on or after the due date, then sync to the other phone. Open the Recurring tab to see the next scheduled date and the rule’s current state.
Can I export my data?
CSV export is a Pro feature. Tallio Pro is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. In Settings, choose Export CSV to export every expense and settlement, across all dates.
How do I use Tallio with Shortcuts and Siri?
Open Settings in Tallio and find the Shortcuts recipes. The grocery and partner-payment guides help you configure the existing Add Expense and Add Settlement actions. You can also check your balance or open a section with Siri. The Add Expense action uses your household’s default split unless you select another supported option, such as Equal. Review the selected action’s options when building your shortcut. Household setup and device authentication may be required.
How do Ask Tallio and English expense logging work?
Natural-language interpretation requires Tallio Pro, a compatible Apple Intelligence iPhone, Apple Intelligence enabled and the English on-device model downloaded and ready. In Siri or Shortcuts, invoke Ask Tallio and ask about spending for all categories or one category and a date range. Tallio calculates the answer from your ledger. If interpretation is unavailable, use Analyze Household Spending with an explicit category, dates and report type.
In the app, open Activity → Describe expenses · Pro, enter up to five expenses in English and tap Add expenses. In Shortcuts, add the Log Expenses action and supply an English description. Both save eligible expenses automatically without a separate save confirmation, use your household’s default split, ask for missing categories and report unsupported items. Read the result, then check or edit saved entries in Activity. Use manual entry for anything not added. Natural-language input is English-only, even when Tallio uses Polish. If Apple Intelligence is unavailable, manual expense entry and the structured Add Expense action remain available.
Does Tallio support Siri AI?
Tallio provides App Intents for Siri and Shortcuts, plus iOS 27 system actions to search Activity and open an entry. Siri AI availability and request routing depend on Apple, your device, language and region. See Apple’s Siri AI requirements. Core Tallio actions do not require its English AI features.
How do I restore Pro or share it with my partner?
Open Settings → Unlock Pro to purchase the one-time upgrade, or choose Restore Purchase from the paywall or Settings using the Apple Account that made the purchase. Pro also becomes available to the other member of the same synced Tallio household; that partner does not need a second purchase. This is Tallio household sharing, separate from Apple Family Sharing. If access does not appear, check the purchasing account, household connection and internet connection, then contact support.
How can I leave a shared household or delete records?
The invited participant can use Settings → Leave household when available. This removes the shared household from that device; it does not delete the owner’s household or create a private copy. To delete an individual expense or settlement, open it in Activity and use its delete control. Deletions sync to the shared ledger, but synchronization markers, backups and copies someone exported may remain. Deleting the app alone does not delete its iCloud data. See the data deletion policy for limits and guidance.
How is my data handled?
Tallio uses iCloud and Apple’s sharing infrastructure for the shared ledger. Read the privacy policy for the full explanation of storage, sharing, and deletion.
